Specification Upgrades for South Africa's favourite SUV

The Toyota Fortuner needs no introduction, as it remains South Africa's most popular SUV. Making consistent appearances at the top of the sales charts, it’s a product that resonates extremely well with South Africans and their lifestyles.

Part of this success can be attributed to continuously responding to customers' evolving needs and incorporating market feedback in the product line-up - in the pursuit of producing an ever-better Fortuner for our customers.

On this note, the following specification enhancements and adaptions have been incorporated into the range.

Convenience Specification
2.8 models receive an upgrade to dual-zone climate control while the range-topping VX grade inherits a Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) with selectable view, and for audiophiles, an upgrade to the 11-speaker JBL Premium Audio system. The on-board satellite navigation has been omitted due to the preferred usage of smartphone apps via the Apple CarPlay/Android Auto functionality.

Safety & Security Enhancements
All Fortuner models now also boast an enhanced Smart Entry system with additional security measures.

In addition, VX variants receive additional functionality to the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) system in the form of Blind- Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

Colour Choices
The colour line-up on the 2.4 and 2.8 models remain unchanged (seven options).

On VX models, Pearl White is replaced by the new Platinum White Pearl - offering eight exterior hues to choose from.

Engine & Transmission Options
The proven 2.4 and 2.8 GD-6 engines continue their duties. The 2.4 GD-6 produces 110 kW and 400 Nm and are available in both 6-speed manual and 6-speed auto transmission configurations while all 2.8 variants are paired exclusively with the self-shifter, producing 150 kW and 500 Nm.

The fuel index ranges from 6.8 l/100 km to 7.9 dependant on variant and transmission type selected.
